What’s Going On Physically (and Mentally) When You Can’t Orgasm

You’re there, you’re there, oh god yes, you¦ are¦ so¦ close. So cl” Oh wait, no. NO. Ugh. Nevermind. It’s gone.

There is nothing in the world more frustrating than winding up on the verge of an orgasm a multitude of times without being able to actually just push yourself over the ages. So why does it seem to be happening over and over again to you?

You’re forgetting foreplay

We know how hard it can be to sometimes not want to rush to the main event during sex”sometimes it’s new and exciting, sometimes you’ve been together for years and you’re tired from a long day. But if you’re going to rush through the period when you’ll work yourself up to the prime likelihood of having an orgasm, then you can’t get upset when it simply doesn’t happen for you. Never, ever neglect the foreplay!

You’re focusing on the wrong part of your body

There are some women who go most of their young adult life thinking that something is wrong with them because no matter how long and hard (literally) they try, they can never seen to have an orgasm during sex. Problem is, they might be completely avoiding the part of their body that does give them the most pleasure”their clitoris, their nipples or their anus. Don’t forget to take the time to learn what you like the best and voice it to your partner openly.

You’ve convinced yourself you can’t

One of the biggest hurdles that women face when it comes to having an orgasm is going through life convinced that they can only orgasm through masturbation or, shockingly, not at all (but how would you survive?). Overcoming this mental block is one of the most important things you can do.

You’re changing positions too much

In the heat of the moment it can often seem like if one thing isn’t working that you should try another. Not necessarily the case. Changing your position too often prevents your body from having the constant stimulation that is needed to build towards climax. If something feels right, stick with it. It will come to you in time.

You’ve checked out

Are my thighs jiggling? Did I turn off my straightener at home? Ugh, I really need to get a pedicure. We all know that sometimes it can be difficult to focus on the task at hand during sex. But when you find your mind wandering, we can promise that it will be next to impossible to get off. Reengage your body by closing your eyes, breathing deeply and focusing on the feeling of having him inside you.
