(We know he is…) While it may be easy to hit up an all-inclusive in Acapulco, your honeymoon is the perfect opportunity to go on a unique adventure. 1. Iceland

If this Nordic island doesn’t captivate you with its stunning landscape of glaciers, mountains and rivers, then you can relax together in steamy geothermal pools surrounded by mountains of ice. Iceland also has dozens of golf courses, or you can embark on an adventure together hiking through the Laugavegur hiking trail, or dive in the Stryta; the only geothermal cone in the world where you can scuba dive. You can watch whales or watch a show in Rejkavik’s thriving cultural hub. A wonderful destination on its own for a week, Iceland would also be a great start or ending point for a romantic Nordic cruise.

2. Belize

If you like the tropical jungles and nature of the Mayan Riviera or Costa Rica, take your honeymoon in Belize, a Central American country with unbridled reefs and virgin beaches (and also the birthplace of chewing gum). While there may not be many 5 star accommodations, Belize is known for its reef, which attracts over 250,000 visitors a year. One sight not to be missed is the Great Blue Hole. The giant sinkhole is host to species of shark and the clear waters are stunning.

3. Croatia

Take in the old world beauty of the Dalmatian coast, and avoid the crowds in other Adriatic destinations. While you need a visa to travel, it’s worth it when you can enjoy the stunning shorelines and palaces perched on cliffs, akin to the French Riviera. Stay in the capital city of Dubrovnik, also known as the pearl of the Adriatic sea. Take in views of the fortified old town buildings hanging on the edge of a cliff as you share a bottle of wine.

7. ÄŒeské½ Krumlov

This small town in the South Bohemian region of the Czech Republic is as charming as it is ancient. Take a stroll down the cobblestone streets amid Renaissance and colourful baroque storefronts. Cross a bridge and take in the picturesque ÄŒeské½ Krumlov castle, which is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. But old world charm and history meet outdoor adventure in this tiny town near the Austrian border. Embark on a kayak or raft ride upstream and you can float along the river as you admire views of the old town.
