Why Margiela Teamed Up With Kanye

"What's that jacket? Margiela?" she said, excited beyond words to begin a blog post with this.

Anyway, hello. As you may know, Maison Martin Margiela teamed up with Kanye West to create costumes for the (now post-poned) Yeezus tour, but despite the controversy surrounding the tour itself, Margiela has admitted working with Kanye's been a breeze. (Breezus.) (Oh my god, save me from myself.)

"We didn't pay attention to what is being said about him in the press, we just focused on what could be done with him," he told Vogue. "We have wanted to work with Kanye West for a very long time, ever since he became a close friend of the Maison; supporting us a lot and coming to our shows. We like his music and the vision he had for the tour."

Apparently, the brand was given only the instructions to create a wardrobe in step with artist Vanessa Beecroft's artistic direction. Then, West worked with Margiela for the last step of the process.

"Everything went very smoothly since our first meetings with Kanye at the beginning of the year," he continued. "We firstly went through the Maison's archives, fiinding iconic pieces to be reinterpreted. We then had a few fittings, bouncing ideas back and forth about how to adapt the garments, the fabrics, textures, colours, and details, to transform them into a stage wardrobe."

So evidently, working with Kanye West is easy. (Yeezy.) (Somebody please rip this keyboard out of my hands.) Now when is he going to design baby clothes for North?
