Tyra Banks to Produce Sitcom

Tyra Banks is producing a new television sitcom called Fivehead. The new show is based on Banks’ life as a socially awkward, bullied teen before becoming world-class supermodel.

Why Fivehead? Well, the term refers to someone with an unusually large forehead, a trait Banks admits to having herself. While she owns her forehead now, it used to be something she felt very insecure about in her younger years.

In high school, if you have glasses, you’re a ˜four eyes,’ if you have braces you’re a ˜metal mouth’ but if you had my forehead? You’re a fivehead,’ Banks explained.

Kenya Barris, TV writer and childhood friend of Banks, has signed on to co-produce the show and write the script. According to reports, Barris and Banks will be working together to create characters and plotlines.

“To be able to witness her career was wild, but to be able to watch Tyra grow up was nothing short of nutty, Barris said. I am blown away by the opportunity to tell not just a great story but a story that I remember so fondly.

Banks has reportedly sold Fivehead to ABC. There is not yet any information on who will star in the show or when the sitcom might begin to air.
