The Force was Strong at the Star Wars Red Carpet Premiere

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theatres this week and already it’s inspiring a plethora of styles, including those walking the red carpet at the premiere in L.A. last night. With such a long-running franchise (with such a huge following) like that of Star Wars, it’s hard not to take inspiration from some of the most iconic looks of the last 40 years.

Most of the men walking the red carpet kept it pretty casual, including George Lucas (we expected more from you! This is your seventh moment!), Mark Hamill and the always-classy Harrison Ford, but it was the leading ladies that took the right cues.

Opting for white Princess Leia-like fabrics and sparkling dresses (no doubt inspired by the “star” part of Star Wars), Gwendoline Christie (who we’re so grateful to be seeing more of, especially while we’re waiting for Game of Thrones to come back), Daisy Ridley and Lupita Nyong’o stole the spotlight on the red carpet, outshining even the original Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher, who went for a dark side-looking ensemble instead.

But the two most important styles of the night? C-3PO and R2D2 who went au naturel, because when you’re curating the look everyone is inspired by, you rock it hard. 566f6a275383a.image

Even your regular visiting celebs were on board cosplaying it up, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who channeled his inner Yoda for the event.

But this Star Wars style hasn’t just been reserved for celebrities. Covergirl recently released their Star Wars beauty collection, asking you to choose between the dark and light side (but who can? They both sound like fun). Even Mashable helped create some outfit suggestions to rock when you go see the movie in theatres this weekend, because apparently cosplay at the theatre is out, but sophisticated SW is totally in this season.
