Taylor Swift Says it’s Time to Move On

Time to retire your Team Taylor and Team Kanye shirts. It looks like the Taylor Swift vs. Kanye West debacle has finally been put to rest.

20 year-old Taylor Swift devoted a (albeit pitchy) song to her former arch nemesis’.

Taylor debuted her new song, Innocent, last night at the MTV Video Music Awards. With some dramatic lighting, bare feet and a seriously smoky eye, Taylor sang her somber forgiveness to Kanye. Kanye countered with his own apology song, Runaway last night too. In Taylor Swift’s words: today is never too late to be brand new. Meanwhile, Kanye sang an ode to “douchebags, scumbags and assholes.” Only on MTV.

It was just a short year ago, at the 2009 VMAs, that the rapper ran onstage and interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech, stating that Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. Perhaps it was also not his best career move¦ The backlash against Kanye was instant and put a huge dent in his career. Earlier this week Kanye took to his twitter (because what better way to let out all your feelings?) and apologized to Taylor.

And it looks like Taylor accepted his apology and let bygones be bygones. The country starlet sang lyrics like who you are, is not what you did and, a personal favorite, 32 and still growing up.
