Pink Tartan Meets ALDO

Written by Anne T. Donahue

A footwear collaboration

Just in time for Toronto Fashion Week, Montreal brand Pink Tartan has joined forces with ALDO RISE — ALDO’s fashion week collaboration program — to launch their first footwear collection.

Centered around “the shape of things to come,” the ready-to-wear collection saw geometric shapes and texture used as inspiration, with sorbet and metallic tones used as accents. As for the shoe? The brand opted for a black and white style, with a trapeze-shaped metallic heel and Pink Tartan’s signature quilted clover repeated on the leather lining and insock. Nice.

ALDO Group’s VP of marketing, Douglas Bensadoun, had especially nice things to say about the new alliance.

“We’ve been fans of Pink Tartan from the get-go,” he said. “They’re a proudly Canadian brand that continues to raise the bar while delivering right on target. Working with Kimberly [President and Creative Director of Pink Tartan] has been a genuine pleasure — she’s a class act. Her elegant taste and timeless aesthetic pushed our design team to develop a style that feels like an instant classic.”

Well, who doesn’t love an instant classic?
