PETA’s Beyonce Beef

It’s controversy time.

After Beyonce delivered a Super Bowl halftiime show so great it cause a power outage (maybe), PETA is on the warpath: evidently, Beyonce wore an outfit to said performance made of python, lizard, and leather, and the activist group isn’t happy.

“We would take a bet that if Beyonce watched our video exposes, she’d probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits, and other animals who died painfully,” said PETA’s statement. “Today’s fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyonce’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.”

Yikes.

The singer’s ensemble was designed by Rubin Singer, and, according to Vogue UK, took 200 hours to create. This is also the second time PETA’s gone up against Beyonce — this year. After wearing fur to Obama’s inauguration in January, the singer was condemned by them also.

So what do you think? Animal products are a slippery slope — is there ever when wearing them is okay? Or is not a hot-button topic? As they say on “SNL” (from the 1980s), discuss.
