Mia Wasikowska For Miu Miu

It’s always exciting to hear about a new celebrity-designer collaboration, so with news that Alice In Wonderland‘s Mia Wasikowska has been named the new face of Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2012 campaign, we can all sit back and nod in approval.

Replacing Hailee Steinfeld (whose F/W campaign came under fire for allegedly “putting children in danger” thanks to a traintrack photoshoot), Mia Wasikowska is likely a big Miu Miu fan, since she told Vogue UK last year that she was “undecided” about becoming a brand’s muse.

“I’m not sure about becoming a campaign star,” she told them. “It would depend on what the brand is, what it was for and on timings – we’ll see.”

Hm. Did Mia Wasikowska know about her impending campaign by then? Who knows. But what we do know is that the Telegraph UK has branded the Miu Miu campaign as one of the “most coveted” in the fashion industry.

A far cry from the more-subtle, more-narrative Hailee Steinfeld campaign, Mia Wasikowska’s photos are bright, in-your-face and a reflection of the commanding print and colour palette Miu Miu has based their collection around.

One of the most interesting new unions of 2012, let’s be honest.
