Liv Tyler has been the exclusive spokesperson for Givenchy’s Very Irré©sistible, having been featured in their ads since 2003. Now, the actress is finally agreeing to sing in their next commercial.
As the daughter of one of the world’s most famous rock stars, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, it’s a wonder that Liv has never had any interest to launch her own singing career before now. But, I’m sure she’ll be getting a few helpful tips from her dad.
Referring to the new commercial as “an electrifying meeting between the world of rock and the universe of perfume,” Givenchy is partnering up with Sony Music Entertainment for the project. They’ve enlisted the help of Dave Sitek, a famed guitarist and producer known for working with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Scarlett Johansson. The song is rumoured to be a cover of a popular hit.
The last time Liv showed-off her pipes was back in 2003 when she was featured on The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King soundtrack for “Arwen’s Song.”
I’d be surprised if Liv used this to launch a full-fledged music career (she doesn’t seem like the crossover type), but I do have a feeling that the release of this mysterious song into the mainstream world will gather quite a bit of attention.
