Kelly Clarkson Responds to Weight Criticism Like a Boss

Some lady named Katie Hopkins, who apparently is some sort of television personality, decided to go on Twitter to body shame Kelly Clarkson.

"Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen. #grahamnorton," Hopkins wrote on Twitter while watching Clarkson's appearance on British talk show The Graham Norton Show last month.

That wasn't her only tweet regarding Clarkson's weight that night. Then she took aim at the singer again (clearly this woman was hoping for some attention) on March 3, saying, "Look chubsters, Kelly Clarkson had a baby a year ago. That is no longer baby weight. That is carrot cake weight. Get over yourselves."

Later, speaking to Heat magazine, Clarkson showed that she paid no mind to such comments, and didn't even know who Hopkins is.

"I don't have a clue what you're talking about. Someone tweeted something about me?" Clarkson said, before finding out that Hopkins had once been dubbed The Most Hated Woman in Britain. "Oh, and she's tweeted something nasty about me? That's because she doesn't know me. I'm awesome! It doesn't bother me. It's a free world. Say what you will.

"I've just never cared what people think. It's more if I'm happy and I'm confident and feeling good, that's always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family — I don't seek out any other acceptance."

A person's weight or body shape should never be part of the conversation. Let's talk about how badass Clarkson is instead. She's got new music coming out, recently released a duet with John Legend, performed The History of Duets with Jimmy Fallon (which was awesome), and seems to be pretty damn happy with life right now.
