Kate Middleton May Wear Two Wedding Dresses

The dress fit for a princess could end up being two dresses.

Bruce Oldfield, the designer rumoured to have a hand in designing Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, has said that she’ll be wearing two dresses.

Oldfield hinted during his appearance on Good Morning America this week that Middleton will be wearing a conservative dress for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, but will change into a different dress for the reception.

Regardless, Oldfield insisted there will be two dresses.

Oldfield wouldn’t say how he knew, since Middleton still hasn’t revealed who will be designing the dress. Many are banking on Oldfield, but royal correspondents have insisted that the designer will come as a surprise to many. British Vogue reported that Middleton has already ruled him out.

Oldfield also said he knows the dress will have sleeves, because you can’t walk down the aisle of Westminster Abbey in a strapless dress. It has to suit the grandeur of the aisle. But he could reveal nothing about the second dress.

Buckingham Palace has said that Middleton’s chosen the designer for her dress(es), but is keeping it a secret.

Despite speculation that Oldfield’s already out of the ball game, the odds keep stacking up in his favour. A few weeks ago, Middleton’s mother, Carole, and sister, Pippa, were seen browsing in his London dress shop. And now he’s acting like an insider authority on Middleton’s dress? It’s going to be a tough one to call, ladies.

Personally, I don’t think Oldfield will be the designer – at least, not the only one. Everyone’s expecting Middleton to choose him, and she seems to want to keep everyone guessing. But he’s definitely involved somehow. Could it be possible she’s using two designers for her two dresses “ perhaps with Oldfield designing the conservative one (as he’s a longtime designer for the royal family), with a more contemporary designer for the second?

Who do you think will design Middleton’s dress(es)?

In the past, it was quite common for a bride to change from her wedding dress into a ‘going away’ dress for the reception… perhaps the latter is the ‘second dress’ in question.

I don’t understand how she can think about wearing two wedding dresses….. The wedding dress should be something unique for a wedding, something about people will talk, a peace of wedding puzzle. If she wears two dresses, witch one will be the missing piece of the puzzle? The puzzle has one place for wedding dress and not for wedding dresses…..
