Joni Mitchell Stars in New Campaign for Saint Laurent

Saint Laurent's latest edition of the 'Music Project' features none-other than the queen of folk, Joni Mitchell. The 71-year-old was photographed in her Los Angeles home by the brand's creative director, Hedi Slimane.

The photos feature Mitchell with her guitar, which makes for stunning images. In the campaign, the Canadian icon dons a folk tunic, a wide brimmed hat and a leather cape that Slimane custom designed specially for her, as she plays her guitar. Basically, the portraits look like they came straight from Woodstock.

This campaign also seems to be part of a movement to feature women that are further along in years than traditional models. French luxury brand Celine just announced author Joan Didion, 80, as their newest model. This change is refreshing and proof that beauty has no age. Will other brands soon follow in their footsteps?

YSL's Music Project campaign has previously featured Daft Punk, Marilyn Manson, Courtney Love and Beck.
