Jessica Alba Turns to a Unique Delivery Method for Her Second Child

Celebrities are often the new trendsetters for anything and everything “ including pregnancy. Jessica Alba is no exception, choosing to give birth to her second child through hypno-birthing.

You may be wondering what in the world is hypno-birthing. Yeah, us too. It’s the latest delivery trend, that’s focused on breathing and meditation techniques.

Jessica Alba had so much success with the meditation-inspired birthing technique with her first daughter, Honor, so she’s vowed to try it again.

I didn’t scream, it was really Zen, said Alba to OK! Magazine.

Not exactly the same story you’d get from every delivery room, but a sense of calm and Zen feeling is exactly what hypno-birthing is all about.

It’s kind of a way to relax and know that the contraction will only last for so long. You just need to concentrate on the breathing and the sound of [your partner’s] voice. I’m just concentrating on breathing and staying relaxed because it’s when you get tense that makes the whole labor worse and more painful, said Alba.

Sounds pretty straightforward I guess. It should pretty much quell any pre-delivery worries too “ at least it did for Alba.

I was freaked my first time going into labor, like ˜what if I panic? What if I just freak out and am not prepared for it?’ This just prepares you.

So I guess it’s safe to say Alba will be ready for the birth of her second child, whenever that day may come.

The due date and sex of the baby have been kept under wraps pretty carefully. While Alba has a very visible baby bump, she and hubby Cash Warren only announced that she was pregnant in February. Somehow they managed to make the announcement without revealing if Honor would be a big sister to a baby brother or baby sister.
