Is January Jones Mean?

In case you weren’t up on Tuesday’s television news, 11-year-old Jared Gilmore – who played Bobby Draper on Mad Men – had some choice words for his TV mom during an interview with TV Guide: “Be careful around January. She’s not as approachable as the others.” (Yikes.)

However, John Slattery (aka Roger) has jumped to the actress’ defense, claiming that despite the child’s testimonies (or that unforgettable run-in January had with Zach Galifianakis), Ms. Jones is a “sweetheart”.

Speaking to E!, the-artist-we’ll-always-think-of-as-Sterling explained that “she’s an intimidating character” especially if you were a “seven-year-old boy [or] her son.”

And he continued: “She’s a sweetheart. We got lucky. We don’t have anybody like that.”

As for what January thinks? Nobody knows. Reps for both Jones and her son declined interviews with E!, leaving all of us to wonder why a little kid would make such claims without no probable cause. (I mean, how unapproachable does one have to be for a pre-pubescent boy to say he basically doesn’t like you?)

Either way, Slattery thinks the former Mrs. Draper is going to make a “great mother”, leaving only one question: who in the world is this this woman’s baby daddy?
