Fashion’s Richest Men Embrace the Christmas Spirit

Who says the elite don’t have big hearts? After all, why else would Marc Jacobs and his business partner Robert Duffy (pictured here) and Giorgio Armani donate some serious cash-money to their hometowns in the spirit of Christmas? (And don’t you dare say publicity.)

After raising money on behalf of their favourite cities, the two took on projects that would bring something extra to Massachusetts and Milan. Jacobs, in the form of a new playground on Cape Cod, and Armani in the form of a restored landmark in Milan. And don’t worry – we’ll elaborate.

Together with his fashion partner Robert Duffy, Jacobs has pledged $48,529 to restore a rundown playground through the sales of a limited edition “P-Town” t-shirt, which features the art of local Provincetown students. Evidently, Duffy owns a waterfront home in the area and has been associated with local causes for some time – quite the breath of fresh air since other personalities may not be so inclined to (literally) share the wealth.

Meanwhile, in Armani land, the Italian fashion king donated 50 000 Euros toward the restoration of a historic piazza in the heart of Milan – and in lieu of publicity and over-the-top representation, the designer has insisted he merely boasts town pride. Now if only those Jersey Shore kids could learn a thing or two. (We’re due a Christmas miracle, right?)
