Dolce & Gabbana To Launch Kids’ Line

Dolce & Gabbana are targeting a new demographic to further their fashion empire: kids.

Launching their first childrenswear collection this July, Dolce & Gabbana are aiming for customers aged newborn to 10, and promise the pieces will be just as stylish as their collection for adult fans.

Daywear, innerwear, beachwear, accessories and footwear are all part of the new Dolce & Gabbana kids’ collection (in case your children are tired of OshKosh or overalls), and according to Vogue UK, highlights include a lilac sequined party dress (for those play dates that mean more than just sharing a sundae), a mini tuxedo (when recess requires a dress code) and dresses covered in cherubs.

“We interviewed all the mothers because the collection must be practical,” said Dolce. “We learned a lot, plenty of details. For example, it’s better to have sleeveless onesies and freedom of movement – kids don’t want to feel too constricted.”

“The line is conceived as a further expansion of the Dolce & Gabbana world,” added Gabbana. “This is an homage to Italy and to our tradition. It’s part of our culture and marks one of the most important moments in our lives.”

Seems like class pictures are about to get a whole lot fancier.
