Cara Delevingne Joins the Suicide Squad

Do not even think we are moving on from Cara Delevingne in 2015 — mostly because it was just announced that she'll be joining the upcoming superhero movie, Suicide Squad.

And this cast is banked: the model will be playing the magical villain enchantress (as per Vogue) and appearing alongside Tom Hardy, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto. And get this, friends: there's a Canadian connection since it will start filming in Toronto in April. (And will be released in 2016.)

"But Anne!" you say, because it is my favourite way to begin a new thought. "What even IS Suicide Squad?"

That is an excellent question, voice in the crowd I've invented completely. According to Variety, it's based on the DC comic, and centres around a team of supervillains who "are given a chance at redemption by the government." But! There's a catch: their mission will probably leave them all dead. (Unless it does well and in that case, it will not leave anybody dead because there will be sequels because we know how movies work.) (Not that I know anything, I'm just keeping it real.)

So yeah: it's a big step.

Also a big step? This week, Delevingne won Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards this week, then walked arm-in-arm with Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel's Metiers d'Art show in Salzberg yesterday. And now she's signed onto a major Warner Brothers' franchise. Guys, if she ends up running for political office at some point in our lives, I'm not sure I'll be surprised.
