Can “Cougar Town” Be Saved?

For fans of Cougar Town, keep calm: TBS may pick up the struggling series of ABC cuts it out of their roster.

According to Deadline, TBS is in “preliminary talks” with ABC Studios about acquiring Cougar Town, an action that could save the series since Cougar Town has been experiencing mediocre ratings. ABC has also cut the show from 22 to 15 episodes which also bodes badly, considering Cougar Town was initially pulled out midseason.

Show creator Bill Lawrence has also been desperately trying to keep Cougar Town alive: on top of a social media campaign, cameos and a “fan outreach” situation, the show’s ratings aren’t improving, meaning we can probably expect Cougar Town to be homeless in the near future – unless TBS makes good on its “talks.”

Keeping the series on-air could also prove well for us Friends fans: since Jennifer Aniston already made a Cougar Town appearance, promise of more cast guest spots would definitely keep certain audiences watching.

That, and without Cougar Town, most of us wouldn’t have learned about the precious Busy Phillips/Michelle Williams best friendship.
