10 Unconventional Holiday Dates Around Toronto

Written by Kathryn Kyte

The holiday season is upon us and with that comes an abundance of all-things magical. While navigating through a mall trying to snag all the best presents can stress you out, remember that the holidays are meant to be a time to spend with family and loved ones. Sure, there are obligations that seemingly trickle into the December discourse, but there are also a lot of cool ways to reconnect with your main attraction: your significant other.

You’ve done the whole baking thing together, singing together, painting together, board game thing–these are dates that already have been capitalized on, right? Now, instead of getting into a rut while trying to figure out what the coolest new trendy date to try is, we’ve compiled a list for you. Some are a bit more racy than others, some may require you to be a bit of a daredevil and some may make you learn new tricks that you’ll simply have to put to good use.

Here’s a list of 10 unconventional (whatever that word really means these days) dates that can help take your relationship to a new level.

O.Noir Toronto

You’ve gone out to dinner a billion times together, we get it, but have you done so blindfolded? O.Noir Toronto is a restaurant fully serviced by a blind wait staff and you enjoy your food in complete darkness (hence the name). “It’s better in the dark” is the slogan and the experience lets you forget about all the noise and focus on your taste, touch, smell and sound sensations. No phones, lighters, flashlights or anything that illuminates–just you and your love dining together in a blackout setting. Another big aspect of the experience is that you are learning what it actually feels like to be blind and since the restaurant only employs visually-impaired wait staff, there’s a true authenticity to be had. The menu is nothing to scoff at either as there are a lot of healthy options and even some surprises.
