Lindsay Lohan Opens up to Oprah About Addiction Problems

Lindsay Lohan appeared in her first post-rehab interview last night in an episode of "Oprah's Next Chapter." The troubled actress opened up about her addiction problems and personal struggles in the explosive and shocking interview.

Lohan just completed 90-day court-ordered rehab treatment. This was her sixth time entering a rehab facility, revealing the first time in 2006 was because she had begun taking Ambien. Following that, she was charged with a DUI in 2007, which landed her back in rehab at Promises Rehabilitation Center. It was just two months following her stay there that she was charged with a second DUI.

"I didn't take Promises seriously," Lohan admitted. "There were moments at that age for me, I related on and off. I didn't really acknowledge that there could be an issue, that there would be. I was 21."

Lohan also admitted that, when facing jail time for her charges, she was willing to do the time.

"Strangely, being in my addiction and having all the chaos around me that I was so comfortable with — somewhere inside me, I kind of wanted to go to jail," she said. "That was subconsciously being put out there by me. I think it was just to find some peace, to have some time to just sit and be. It was terrifying. Just seeing my mom and my sister's face in that courtroom — and my dad, I just remember this rush of heat coming over me and not knowing what to expect."

But, after entering rehab on five different occasions between 2007 and 2013, this sixth and most recent visit was different for Lohan.

"I've just hit a wall," she told Oprah.. "I'm just tired. When I spoke to [my attorney] Shawn Holley, I just said, 'I think the best option is to just go to treatment, to take care of myself, to find myself.' I came into it really willing."

Lohan finally admitted the vices that have led her down this tumultuous road. The actress says she has an addiction to alcohol, which has been a gateway of sorts into various other drugs. She revealed that she tried cocaine with alcohol in the past, but insists she hasn't done it "more than 10 to 15 times," as opposed to her previous admission of three to four. She also revealed an addiction to Adderall, which she began taking for ADHD.

Now that Lohan is clean and, as she puts it, in a good place, she's ready to get back to work.

"I have to regain the trust of people in my career that have their doubts, and I fully respect that," she said. "I hate that label and that title [of child star gone bad]. That's not what I ever aspired to be. That's not what I want in my life. As long as I stay honest with myself and just do the work that I'm willing to do and have been willing to do and am doing, then there's nothing that can stand in my way of that. I'm my own worst enemy, and I know that."
