Modern technology can do wonders for our appearance. We’ve all tweaked a photo or two before, but how far is too far?
Panasonic Corp released a new camera last Friday that will clean up imperfections better than any amateur Photoshop job (add contrast; decrease saturation, anyone?).
The LUMIX FX77 has a “beauty re-touch” function that will deliver on the traditional “beauty” front – it whitens teeth, removes dark eye circles, makes your face look smaller, your skin more translucent and your eyes bigger.
Is it just me, or is this starting to sound more like an “anime transformation” function?
“According to the data we’ve acquired, around 50 per cent of our digital camera clients are not satisfied with the way their faces look in a photograph,” said Akiko Enoki, a Panasonic project manager. “So we came up with the idea so our clients can fix parts they don’t like about their faces after they’ve taken the picture.”
But it doesn’t stop there. The beauty re-touch will also apply makeup.
Oh yes – no need to fuss with cosmetics or even hygiene when Panasonic has you covered. The camera’s magic touch will apply blush, lipstick and eye shadow.
It’s one thing to have your face look slimmer or your teeth whiter, but what happens when you start to look sickly from the overly skinny face and accidentally whitened lips?
And if we wanted to apply lipstick past our lip line, wouldn’t we just do it drunk?
Ladies, can I get an amen?
