Look Like a Troll! (We’re Not Joking)

Children of the nineties, our dreams are coming true: MAC is launching a limited-edition line that will speak to each and every one of us, individually.

Enter: MAC Good Luck Trolls, a collection based on the toy we were obsessed as wee baby kids.

Consisting of lipstick (in four shades), Lipglass (in four shades), eye shadow (five), pigment, glitter, and powder (also a brush), the line hits stores on August 4 and online July 28.

“The Good Luck Trolls have evoked love and joy since the 1960s,” said James Gager, MAC Senior Vice President/Group Creative Director. “We are so happy we can put the spotlight on them again. MAC Cosmetics celebrates pop culture and fantasy — and brings these enchanting characters to life — through this electric, bright-hued collection.”

And from what the promo images allude to, it’s bright and electric, believe me. Which, frankly, is the only option in terms of Trolls nostalgia. Personally, I want and expect these lipsticks to evoke the majesty of my circa-1991 Trolls collection, which means I want the likes of yellow, blue, purple, and bright pink represented. (I also currently have a Blue Jays Trolls doll, and so help me God I better be able to match it, aesthetically.)

Pieces are also called “Can’t Be Tamed” and “Bubble Butt” as well as “Tease” (like the hair, you guys) and “Thank You” which . . . I think is a Trolls reference but let’s be real I was more concerned with the Trolls sticker I scored back in grade one to really care about catchphrases.

Either way, I will buy all of these things and also use them to justify re-hoarding the dolls we were inexplicably obsessed with as children because nostalgia is my preferred method of currency and it’s as simple as that.
