It’s been a big few months for Taylor Swift. At the end of October she released Red, her fourth studio album, which became the fastest selling album in over a decade, selling 1.2 million copies in the first week.
Amid speculation of her past and present relationships (Harry Styles of One Direction), Taylor has managed to look calm, and cool, and stunning at every press appearance. For the American Music Awards red carpet, Taylor told CoverGirl makeup artist Lorrie Turk, she wanted a high-impact look, which could be easily altered to go into her performance look.
Here’s how to get Taylor’s beauty look, for a big night of your own.
Turk used CoverGirl NatureLuxe Silk Foundation, and used a synthetic foundation brush to buff it into her skin. Next she used powder on the t-zone, to leave a dewy finish on her skin. On Taylor’s cheeks, she used CoverGirl Cheekers Blush in Natural Twinkle, a natural rosy pink colour, to add some soft colour and shimmer to her cheeks.
For the eyes, Turk used CoverGirl Intense Shadow Blast in Bling Brown, a dark brown liquid shadow that doubles as a primer. On top of the primer, Turk applied a brown shadow all over the lid, from the lash-line to just beneath her brown bone, and along her lower lash line. Next, she lined Taylor’s upper and lower lash lines heavily with a liquid liner, blending it out to create a soft smoky look. Turk used several coats of mascara to finish off the eyes.
The subtle lip colour comes from the CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Grenache, which Turk applied directly from the tube.
