She may not have come out a winner at last night's 56th Annual Grammy Awards, but Katy Perry's red carpet look was completely flawless. Using some of our favourite purse-friendly CoverGirl products, the nominated songstress' look was equal parts simple, clean and girly to match her pink tulle gown.
Opting for a slightly retro look with big lashes, fair skin and a pink pout, makeup artist Jake Bailey gave Katy a nice even tone, applying CoverGirl CGSmoothers BBcream and TruBlend Liquid Foundation over top of moisturized skin, blending with a brush for optimal coverage and glow. For her retro cateye, two of CoverGirl's lates offerings (and two must-haves for big, bold lashes): CoverGirl Bombshell Intensity Liner and Bombshell Volume Mascara, a dual-wand mascara to add both length and volume to get the ultimate bat-worthy lashes—and even used both of these products for her vampy performance of "Dark Horse".
To get the effervescent glow on Katy Perry's face, Bailey used CoverGirl TruMagic Sunkissed and Luminizer—both new to the CG spring lineup—hitting all the high notes on her face to get that subtle gold shimmer effect without looking like a sparkly mess. Katy's look was complete with a light dusting of coral blush to match her CoverGirl LipPerfection Lipstick in Heavenly—the perfect pink and coral combo. Celebrity nail artist Kimmie Kyees chose a light pink polish (CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Everbloom) to complement Katy's gown, while keeping the focus on her flawless face.
