Every single time I’ve ever gone for a facial, or to see a skin specialist, I’ve always been told the same thing: Your skin is dehydrated. So much so that now I just come to expect to hear those words, and rattle them off when anyone asks me about my skin ” what are my skin concerns you ask? It’s dry! One benefit of receiving the same feedback over and over is that it’s helped me zero in on the type of skincare to look for when shopping for products that will be benefit my skin. Moisturizer is key in my beauty routine because I’m a firm believer that starting with a good base before applying makeup is the easiest way to look fresh throughout the day. Having said that, I’m notoriously late for everything, so I love products that absorb quickly and are simple to use. The L’Oréal Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care Moisturizer is perfect in that it’s ultra hydrating, but with a gel consistency that is lightweight, but keeps you hydrated all day. To top it off, it’s absorbed into the skin almost instantly allowing you to apply makeup right away. If you have extra dry skin, you may need to try the Extra Dry Balm instead of the gel for added intensity.

No matter what time of the year, my skin is oily/combination, and has been for as far back as I can remember. So I’ve always had sort of a love/hate relationship with moisturizer; I know I need to hydrate, but so many moisturizers I’ve tried have either been way too heavy, or way too light, leaving my skin dry and dehydrated. Packed with HA and aloe water, the liquid-gel moisturizer instantly quenched my skin, leaving it hydrated in a way I haven’t seen before. My skin was actually glowing after I applied it the first time, and the silky liquid sinks in so quickly, that I can apply makeup over top pretty much right away. It actually cuts down the shine on my skin and leaves a subtle matte finish. My skin just feels super comfortable afterwards, and not weighed down with product (which is tops for oily skin types). So I’m adding this tall drink of water into regular rotation in my skincare regimen.
