Bath Time: Relax Like a Pro This Winter

Several years ago when I was apartment hunting, I had a short list of requirements—beggars can’t be choosers after all—and I was on a strict budget. But right near the top of that list (right after no basements) was a bathtub. It might seem like a little thing, but bath-lovers like myself know that there are few things more relaxing that a perfectly drawn bath. Here are a few reasons—and some stellar bath quotes—that will make you want to take an hour or two for yourself in the bath.

“There must be quite a few things a hot bath won’t cure, but I don’t know many of them.”

Sylvia Plath sums it up nicely. A bath is a bit of a catch all cure. Not necessarily because water can be healing, or essential oils and bath salts can ease your mind and body—though those things certainly help. It’s because taking a bath forces you to slow down, to sit alone with your thoughts and to relax. It’s amazing the things you can work out when you simply you allow yourself some distraction-free time. Need a little extra help? This Saje Wellness Stress Release Soak ($20) will help ground you and support relaxation with chamomile and orange.
