Confession: I don’t hate winter. ˜Tis the season of cozy knit sweaters, staying in and hot chocolate, hot toddys and cider. What’s not to love? If you’re about to say: the wind, the cold and the gross wet snow, I hear you. The weather is not ideal when you’ve got things to do and people to see. It’s also not great for your skin. The combination of extreme cold, harsh winds and indoor heating is deadly for your complexion and usually leaves your skin feeling dry, dehydrated and sensitive. Which”shocker”are a few of the many things that can contribute to premature aging. Talk about gross. We spoke to Fresh co-founder Lev Glasman for tips on how to keep your skin in shape this winter season”so you can go back to enjoying cozy sweaters and hot chocolate.
Tip #1: Exfoliate
When your skin is dry, the buildup of dead skin cells on the surface of your complexion can cause blocked and congested pores. Regular exfoliation helps to lift and remove the dead skin away and reveals soft, fresh skin underneath. Glasman recommends a sugar polish: it’s great for winter because sugar is an exfoliant that also nourishes”so your skin is left radiant and soft. Try: Fresh Sugar Face Polish ($75)
