Beauty Review: Living Proof No Frizz

What it is:
Living Proof No Frizz Shampoo & Conditioner Duo, $37.50. Available at theshoppingchannel.com.

How it Works:
MIT scientists worked on this formula, which contains PolyfluoroEster, a new frizz-taming ingredient not found in other styling products (most anti-frizz serums and products are silicone-based that just weigh hair down). Living Proof’s No Frizz creates a thin barrier on your hair which blocks humidity. Translation: eliminate the fuzzies, big hair disasters, and other hair woes.

How to Use it:
It’s pretty standard: Just shampoo, rinse, and then apply the conditioner to your strands. (For damaged hair, leave in the shampoo for 2 minutes to allow the formula to settle.) Then rinse out, towel dry and apply a quarter-sized dollop of the straightening cream to coat your hair. Next, heat style with a blow dryer and a round brush. Easy, peasy right? Opt for a flat iron if you aren’t as skilled with a blow dryer, either way your smooth hair is around to stay.

Is it Worth the Hype:
The first time I used the Living Proof No Frizz Shampoo, Conditioner, and Styling Cream I was awe-struck with how smooth my hair looked. My hair felt softer to touch and it was also easier to do a full blow-out to straighten my curly locks. (Usually I just roughly blow dry and then give in, by using my flat iron to do most of the work.) I admired my hair in the mirror, but convinced myself that it was wishful thinking and that by the next morning I’d be forced to run a flat iron through my hair before work.  I was wrong! My hair stayed straight, didn’t dry out like it usually does from days in the scorching heat of a Toronto summer and my stubborn curly strands at the front of my hair shockingly still looked as smooth as they did the first morning.

PLUS (yes, there’s more good news)
My boss and sister both noticed how smooth and shiny my hair looked- who doesn’t love compliments? Heck, my strands even withstood a rainfall and managed to still look good. Since then I’ve converted my mom to also using the products each time she washes and styles.  So YES, the price  IS worth the payout. No Frizz is now a regular part of my styling routine when I want to wear my long, thick and curly hair super sleek – hello, almost every day! What are you waiting for?

Great, I am glad you liked it- for real though I use the shampoo and conditioner everyday and it’s made my hair much more manageable. You should try it!

I have curly hair too, though your curls are already naturally smoother than mine. I like the way you played out your article so honestly and related to the reader. Thanks!
