Every Body Beachwear

While swimsuit shopping may be high on the list of the most dreaded experiences ever, with fashions now available for every body type, beachwear no longer needs to synonymous with terrible.

Whether you’re thin, curvy or full-figured, designers have finally taken notice of the population’s differences, making countless styles available that will keep you covered, confident and en vogue.

Here’s the essential guide to choosing the right bathing suit for you.

Petite

While it may seem that designers tailor their fashions specifically for the small-framed, it can still be challenging to find beachwear that properly fits.  However, few people can rock the bikini like the tall and thin, where tie-up sides and lace-up tops perfectly flatter petite figures and smaller busts. V-necks work to elongate the torso, while high-cut bottoms make legs seem longer.  However, while it may be tempting to embrace outlandish prints and designs, they can overwhelm a small frame.  So like Nicole Richie or Whitney Port, two-pieces are seemingly ideal for the smaller beach babes who long for both function and fashion.

Curvy

It can be difficult when walking the fine line of thin and curvy, and while Scarlett Johansson or Kate Winslet make curvaciousness look effortless, to find the perfect bathing suit can still be tough.  Therefore, though the string bikini may fit fine, curvy qualities may make tiny lace-up tops seem scandalous or the bottoms seem non-existent.  However, you can still fully embrace the world of two pieces with full-sided bottoms and halter tops, or you can bust out a larger bikini top that works to cover a little more ground.  That way you can play in the sun and sand like the surfer girl you are “ without a token wardrobe malfunction.

Full-Figured

While tankinis and full-piece suits once seemed slightly matronly or out of style, this year’s designers have taken a page out of the book of yesterday, bringing back retro one-pieces and vibrantly printed tankinis to the happiness of everyone.  If looking to conceal your waist, embrace ruching accents or look for wide waistbands when shopping for two-piece suits.  Whether boasting bright colours, bold prints or flattering silhouettes, one-pieces can look sophisticated and chic, reminiscent of the fashion seen on Mad Men or the looks inspired by vintage films.
